I just did a minor update to the website. The pictures section is all new with new
pictures and a theme that fits the rest of the site. Take a look!
In other news, the Geroge Bush campaign is currently running an ad on the website
with footage lifted from an ad that was submitted for the moveon.org Bush in 30
Seconds campaign. This is a clear case of copyright infringement. I want everyone
to take a moment to contact moveon.org and let them know that they should pursue
legal action against the Bush campaign. Below is the letter I sent. Feel free to
edit it and send in your own.
I recently watched this commercial @
http://www.georgewbush.com/VideoAndAudio/. I discovered that it had footage from
one of the commercials that was submitted for the Bush in 30 Seconds campaign. I
was under the impression that all the commercials in that campaign were licensed
under the Creative Common License, which forbids derivative works. If that is
indeed the case, this commercial represents a gross violation of copyright
law.

Lets add Orrin Hatch to my list of people that will actually bring me joy when they
die. Just take a look at this
bill he's trying to pass. They're still trying to keep it secret, but once it is
out in the open I beg everyone to write your Representative and Senators.
I've found that fax is usually the best way. Followed by a letter. With email as a
last resort. Congresscritters tend to like real paper for some reason.
If you wonder how one man such as Mr. Hatch can be so evil, just
take a look at who gives him money. For some reason, Mr. Hatch thinks we are all
criminals when in reality he's taking money from Metabolife, Touchmark Corp,
GlaxoSmithKline,
SmithKline
Beecham, Global
Crossing, Schering-Plough
Corp, Bear Stearns, Rexall
Sundown Inc

I may have found a new hero. This is the best article I've read in
years. This is the kind of thing that caused me to want to get a law degree and
work for someone like the EFF.

Here is an article by
someone who gets it. Hopefully the suits in charge are reading.
I plan to do a major overhaul soon. get the pictures up and working and put some
updates up. I've been fussing with my desktop lately, and haven't had a chance. I
promise to remedy that.

I've been slacking lately. No new news at all. I'm going to buy some CD's this
weekend, maybe I'll give you all a revue. Until then, I'd thought I'd help out the
bush campaign. Here's a nice little program that will help them out.
#define TRUE 1
#define FALSE 2
Void Main {
int perception = FALSE;
char *statement = "Our Lie for today";
while(perception != TRUE) {
printf(\s\n,statement);
}

Does this interview prove
my thoughts on Jack Valenti? At 82, there isn't much time for me to prepare the jig
I'm going to be dancing when he passes!
In brighter news, I've seen some very interesting music that past few days. Friday
night Kathrine and I went to see three tribute bands play at the local Goth club.
First up was Fascination Street who were of
course a tribute to the Cure. I have to say they were quite impressive. And that
was before I learned that this was their first gig. The next band up was Love Vigilantes. They are a
New Order tribute, and while they weren't as close the real thing as Fascination
Street they did do pretty well. The last band up was Black Celebration. If you couldn't tell
they are Depeche Mode tribut.

As if I needed another
reason to hate G.W. I'm not a fan of the PATRIOT Act. I think it's a horrible
set of laws, and should fade off into the sunset. I don understand why it was
passed and how it would have been impossible not to vote for at the time. But how
can Bush suggest that it weakens law enforcement greatly if it expires? I've yet to
see one example where the law has actually led to a capture of terrorists. And don't
give me the arguement that the law has them so scarred of being caught that they have
lowered their activity.

It's been a while since I posted. I've been a little busy. I've been fiddling with
my computer trying to make linux work. After days of working I finally have
Mandrake 9.2 dual booting with windows XP. I haven't even needed to boot into
windows in over a week. I've also worked hard to rip all my CD's into FLAC versus MP3 or OGG Vorbis.
FLAC is lossless, so I have true backups of all the CD's I've ripped. Because it's
lossless though I've quickly filled my storage drive. I learned that a 30 GB drive
hold about 100 albums. I will soon add a 160 GB drive, which should be able to hold
500+ albums.
In other news Kathrine, Ryan, and I went and saw Franz Ferdinand last week. I have
to say they are excellent live. I've heard them compared to a lot of different
people, but they're more an amalgamation of quite a few current and past acts than
anything. They combine a lot from the old (Joy Division, New Order, The Happy
Mondays) and some new (Blur and Pulp) and output something that is truly original.
