I love home theater. Call me crazy but I just don't feel right watching a movie when the lights aren't dim, I'm not surrounded by speakers, and I'm not sitting in the middle of the room. That's why I like movie theaters so much. But I'm slowly but surely approaching that kind of quality at home. Right now my system is pretty static, as I've just gotten a new job and don't have the money for any upgrades. Here's what I've got going on:
Sources
DVD: Panasonic
A110.
It's old, but it still works. On my TV, I won't be able to tell much
difference between this and a higher
model player. It will be my first upgrade however. Hopefully to the
Pioneer Elite DV-47A.
VCR:
JVC HR-S4800. You still need a VCR these days. There's just too much
on tape and if you're going to bother
might as well add S-VHS capability.
Turntable: Denon DA-26F. Vinyl isn't dead, it only just seems that way.
Cable Box:
Motorola DCT2000. Sevice by ATT.
Output
Television:
Sharp 32U-S600. It's not great, but not horrible either. It will
accept a component input, so when I upgrade
the DVD I won't be at a loss. And it will tide me over until I can
purchase something like
this.
Reciever: Outlaw 1050.
This is one of the
finest recievers I've ever heard, especially for the price. As an added
bonus it makes a fine preamp, so it will
serve me well on my quest for seperates.
Speakers: Klipsch synergy series. The speakers I have have been
discontinued but you can see them here.
Mains,
Surrounds,
Center,
and
Subwoofer.
This is something that will be upgraded sometime. I'll probably stick
with the Klipsch family though. Probably
Something out of the
